1. Basic life support BLS
This activity intends to instruct physicians and other healthcare professionals to recognize and treat patients suffering from several life-threatening emergencies. The activity will provide instructional material to physicians and other healthcare professionals to guide them in completing basic life-saving skills. Upon completing this activity, participants will have the ability to analyze a cardiac medical emergency and implement basic life-saving skills to increase victims' chance of survival. After completing this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Identify and apply basic life-saving skills in a cardiac emergency to increase victim survival.
- Initiation of the chain of survival
- Describe BLS algorithms for Adults, Children, and Infants.
- Describe the importance of early recognition and intervention of ventilation and AED use
- Recognizing and treating choking
- Identifying and treating opioid overdose
2. Advanced cardiovascular life support ACLS
This activity is intended for physicians and other healthcare professionals who may need to recognize and treat adult patients suffering from cardiac arrest and other cardiopulmonary emergencies. The activity is intended to provide instructional material to physicians and other healthcare professionals to guide them in performing Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Upon completing this activity, participants will be able to analyze cardiopulmonary emergencies to reduce fatal outcomes. After completing this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Improve survival rates for adults who experience cardiac and neurologic emergencies.
- Recognize and initiate early management of cardiac conditions that may result in cardiac arrest.
- Demonstrate proficiency in providing Basic Life Saving skills
- Manage cardiac arrest until return of spontaneous circulation
3. Pediatric advanced life support PALS
This activity is intended for physicians and other healthcare professionals who may need to recognize and treat children and infant patients suffering from cardiac arrest and other cardiopulmonary emergencies. This activity is intended to provide instructional material to physicians and other healthcare professionals to guide them in how to perform Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Upon completing this activity, participants will be able to analyze and treat respiratory and cardiopulmonary emergencies to reduce fatal outcomes.
After completing this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Identify basis for Pediatric Advanced Life Saving treatment
- Recognize and preform effective high quality BLS
- Apply team dynamics and develop effective communication skills as part of a high-performance team
- Recognize respiratory distress/failure and importance of early intervention
- Recognition, treatment, and management of pediatric shock
- Recognition and management of pediatric bradycardia and tachycardia
- Recognition and management of pediatric cardiac arrest
- Knowledge of importance of post-resuscitation support
- Identify abnormal heart rhythms
